Call him weak for going to the team that defeated him, but you would crucify him if he said that all he wanted to do was play basketball for money. Kevin Durant did what was best for him, he joined the team that he believed that would give him the best chance to win an NBA Championship. While Russell Westbrook is my favorite player in the league, I understand why Durant did exactly what he did. Although the Warriors have three other superstars on their team, we can not excuse the fact that Durant needed to go through the King, LeBron James in order to win his first NBA Title.
In 2012, LeBron James finally got the monkey off his back when he won his first title with the Miami Heat. Like Durant, LeBron was crucified. The difference, he and his friends Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh decided they would create this Super Team. LeBron and the Heat would lose the NBA Finals his first year. They returned in 2012 and defeated Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Five years later, Durant would finally get the ring that eluded him as he slayed the King in the process.
