Growing up as a fan of all the good guys, I loved rooting against Ric Flair. There is no denying that he put on some of the greatest matches. Hulk Hogan says he is the greatest wrestler in the history of the business. With that same respect and admiration for the Hulkster, Flair calls him the greatest performer the business has seen. Reflecting on his career, he are the first five matches that I always watch of his.
Ric Flair vs Sting World War III 95
There are many matches between Flair and Sting. While World War III may not be on anyone's list, its my favorite because it's the one I watch the most. The story of betrayal made you want to see Sting put Flair in the Scorpion Death Lock and never let go.
Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan Bash at the Beach 94
Finally! 7 year old Brian H. Waters was happy to see Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair go toe to toe. My parents never ordered WCW PPVs until Hogan came. This was one of those they couldn't miss.
Ric Flair vs Macho Man Randy Savage WrestleMania VIII
As a huge Macho Man fan and Flair fan, this match is still great two decades later. While everyone knows this should have been Hogan Flair, Savage and Flair gave us an incredible match.
Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels WrestleMania XXIV
All good things must come to end. WrestleMania XXIV was time for Flair's WWE career to come to an end. The story he and Shawn Michaels told was incredible because just like his character, Flair would not go down easy.
Ric Flair vs Harley Race Starrcade 83 Flair for the Gold
This is the only match on my go to list that Flair wins. Though I was not born yet, watching his DVDs made me understand the significance. Watching this classic is a must for any wrestling fan.
Honorable Mention 1992 Royal Rumble
Perhaps the greatest Royal Rumble in history, it was the night where the winner was crowned WWE Championship. Ric Flair would win his first WWE title and nothing was better than his speech to follow.
Tweet me @BrianHWaters your go to matches.
